Snow Commander

The Commander® Cloud Management Platform (CMP) enables cloud automation by integrating seamlessly with your on-premise datacenters and public cloud infrastructure. Commander orchestrates hybrid cloud provisioning and provides governance and cost optimization for both legacy and cloud-native applications.

Commander provides a single pane of glass by working in parallel with your existing public and private cloud infrastructure, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Microsoft® Azure, Microsoft® Hyper-V SCVMM, and VMware vSphere. The real-time platform is designed to be public cloud- and hypervisor-independent.

Getting Started with Commander

Learn how to quickly get started as an administrator with Commander. This section takes you through the primary required tasks.

Cloud Account Management

To start using Commander to manage and provision your organization's cloud resources, you must configure access to your cloud accounts. Commander can manage the following account types: AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Azure, SCVMM, and vCenter.

User Identity and Access

Control who can access Commander and the web-based Service Portal interface, and what they'll be allowed to do. You can also set up organizations so that you can share your cloud resources effectively and securely amongst users.

Self-Service

Self-service provisioning and management allow users to view and manage cloud resources (for example, request new services or changes to existing deployed services) through the web-based Service Portal. Through the Service Portal, you can provide users with a rich view of their assets without allowing access to the underlying cloud infrastructure. Commander also provides workflows that you can use to set resource limits and configurations for services users request.

IaaS Management

Commander can provide an IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) approach that provides for self-service capabilities of public and private cloud infrastructure.

Lifecycle and Policy Management

Commander's robust policy engine automates service lifecycle management, ensuring that deployed services are decommissioned within set time limits. Flexible notification and expiry extension options ensure that users are well informed and able to keep services active for as long as they're needed, without introducing sprawl.

Resource Capacity and Performance

Use Commander to monitor the capacity of your virtual infrastructure and reclaim any wasted resources. You can also use it to monitor and address the performance of you resources.

Cloud Expense Management

Manage your cloud account expenses. Commander’s cloud cost management capabilities provides cost visibility, actionable cost savings, and cloud cost comparisons.

Cloud Governance

Effectively control the operation and evolution of your private and public cloud infrastructure with the use of Commander cloud governance capabilities.

Monitor and Maintain Commander

Monitor system activity and optimize Commander performance.

Searching and Reporting

Gain valuable insights on your virtual infrastructure, and optionally share the findings with organization members. There are predefined reports for categories such as Capacity and Performance or Chargeback and IT Costing. You can also create customized reports.

You can also use custom searches for ad-hoc querying of hundreds of data points. These searches can also be saved for reuse or scheduled for regular email delivery.
